The WetherMania Elite Jackpot Show is open to ALL youth exhibitors
and ALL wethers & market goats (per the rules and regulations). WEJS will be offering a SMACK DOWN BONUS BUCKS premium to any market goat that was purchased
at the WetherMania Sale that wins (1) Grand Champion, (2) Reserve Grand Champion or (3) places in
the top 5 places of its class (see attached premium schedule). |

1) Immediate family members or persons living in the same household of a WetherMania Elite Jackpot
Show sponsoring producer will be ineligible to show in the jackpot.
2) To be eligible for the Smack Down Bonus Bucks; Goats must be purchased at the March 27, 2010
WetherMania sale in Greenfield, Indiana (animals purchased from WEJS members outside of this sale
are not eligible for Smack Down Bonus Bucks).
3) Goats that are purchased at the WetherMania sale and then resold will NOT be eligible.
4) All Smack Down Bonus Bucks eligible goats must have been raised by the sponsoring producer.
(Absolutely no trader goats or validation of goats raised by a non‐participating producer.)
5) All Smack Down Bonus Bucks eligible goats will be tag‐validated. The Validation Committee will
make the final decision on how goats will be validated.
a) Wether / market goats MUST retain the breeders original USDA SCRAPIE TAG
b) Tag Validation and or DNA samples will determine eligibility
6) Unethical feeding and/or fitting practices is strictly prohibited by the WetherMania Elite Jackpot
Show. Unethical fitting means any attempt to alter the natural appearance, conformation,
musculature or weight of an animal by any unnatural means. Animals showing any signs of being
unethically fitted will be disqualified. Examples of unethical fitting include, but are not limited to the
following:
a) use of injections
b) draining of fluids
c) bruising
d) feeding of material not conducive to the health of the animal, safety of food or marketability of
its carcass
e) surgical alterations
f) artificially filling animals by stomach pumping or airing injections
7) Any youth entering grades K through 12 in 2010 or those having completed grade 12 in 2010 are
eligible to show.
8) All wether / market goats must be shown with their milk teeth in place and hair to be shorn.
9) Classes will be divided according to the weight of the animals. Show committee shall determine the
weight breaks for the classes after weigh in is complete.
10) There will be an official weigh‐in conducted by designated WEJS members. Exhibitors will declare
their entry weight by signing of the weight card.
11) The number of classes will depend on the number of wether / market goats that arrive at the show.
Show committee shall determine the number of classes.
12) Any wether / market goat showing evidence of testicular tissue is ineligible for the show.
13) Upon completion of each class, the Superintendents will weigh a minimum of the top two (2) wether
/ market goats. Any wether / market goat which has gained more than 5 pound from the weight
listed on the entry weight card will be disqualified
14) All entries will be subject to random drug, chemical, and foreign substance testing.
i) The WetherMania Elite Jackpot Show reserves the right to collect urine samples for
laboratory analysis on any animal entered in the competition.
ii) Urine samples shall be free of any foreign substance, including steroids, drugs or chemicals
affecting the central nervous system (for example, stimulants, depressants or painkillers).
iii) The conclusions reached by the Toxicology Lab at the Purdue University Animal Disease
Diagnostic Lab shall be final and conclusive without recourse against the WetherMania Elite
Jackpot Show or any officer, director, or member thereof or any veterinarian as appointed by
the membership.
iv) The exhibitor waives any right of action which he or she might have for any action taken
under this rule and release the WetherMania Elite Jackpot Show and the veterinarian from
any and all claims or demands whatsoever in the connection with the testing of any animal
by reason of conclusion of samples submitted to Purdue University Toxicology Lab.
v) The showing of any animal that has been administered during its life any quantity of any
WetherMania Elite Jackpot Show Rules and Regulations
unapproved drug, chemical or medication is strictly prohibited. Such drugs include, but are
not limited to, any diuretic, unapproved growth stimulant or other unapproved medication.
Unapproved means not approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and/or the U.S.
Department of Agriculture (USDA) for slaughter animals including animals that may be
destined for human consumption.
vi) All medications administered at the show will be administered by licensed veterinarians only.
vii) Any violation of the drug, chemical and substance policy will result in isqualification,
forfeiture of any premiums and/or awards and will exclude the exhibitor, organized group or
individual involved from future WEJS competition.
15) Entries are due by postmarked by June 23rd, 2010.
16) Entry fee is $25.00.
17) Late entries will be accepted the day of the show. Late entry fee is $35.00 (cash only).
18) All entries must have a USDA approved SCRAPIE tag.
19) All goats must be penned by 6:00pm and weighed by 7.00 PM. Weighing of goats will take place
from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
20) Show will begin at 8:00 PM.
21) Exhibitors will be responsible for animal bedding.
22) Exhibitors shall be responsible for all of the security, safety, and care of their animal.
23) WEJS reserves the right to refuse any exhibitors entry.
24) Premium checks will be mailed to the address listed on the exhibitors entry form within 30 days of
the conclusion of the show.
25) All exhibitors entering the show, by paying entry money and presenting entry weight cards to the
WetherMania Elite Jackpot Show, in doing so agrees to all the conditions set forth in the above. |
